ERMAND 'HERM' ROSSI
Apr 10, 2018Herm was born Feb. 7, 1925, in Bessemer, Pa., a son of Mattia and Johanna Bianchi Rossi. Herm worked as a first burner at Bessemer Cement for 35 years. He was a member of the Victory Christian Center in Coitsville. Herm was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He enjoyed fishing, reading his Bible, and spending time with his family. One of his favorite pastimes was watching sports, and he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He is survived by one daughter, Elaine (Jeffery) Martin of Petersburg; three sons, David (Marilyn) Rossi of Boardman, Daniel (Jodene) Rossi of New Castle, Pa., and Douglas (Cynthia) Rossi of Petersburg; one sister, Amelia Shull of Philadelphia, Pa.; six grandchildren, Brandon (Lauren) Egercic of Glendale, Ariz., Ashley Rossi (Joel Hopper) of New Middletown, Todd Rossi of Petersburg, Erin Rossi of Edna, Texas, Michael Rossi of New Castle, and Joe Rossi of New Castle; and two step-grandchildren, Justin Martin of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Christopher (Kristi) Martin of Poland. He was preceded in death by both his parents; one brother, Albert Rossi; and two sisters, Ann Blake and Mary Corapi. Services will be held at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, 270 N. Main St., Monday at 11 a.m., with Bishop David Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Petersburg Cemetery. Friends and family will be received today from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
